Woman unfurls Trump banner during police standoff in Ohio City

CLEVELAND — A 55-year-old woman who unfurled a Donald Trump banner during a police standoff in Ohio City early Wednesday morning has been arrested.

The standoff happened just before 1 a.m. on West 26th Street near United Court.

According to a Cleveland police report, officers responded to a house for a loud music complaint. When officers arrived, the woman opened the door but then slammed it in their faces. Shots were fired from inside the home moments later.

Officers called in Cleveland’s SWAT team and an armored assault vehicle.

During the standoff, the woman hung a Donald Trump banner outside a window.

Eventually the woman was taken into custody. Police didn’t find any weapons on her and are now waiting for a warrant to search the house, the report stated.

The woman’s name and potential charges have not been released.
