CLEVELAND — A man sought by police for the death of a 28-year-old who was shot earlier this month while standing outside with family members on Cleveland’s East Side was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, Donald Vinson, 43, was taken into custody at an apartment in the 100 block of East 156th Street.

On July 13, Dontrell Hill, 28, was standing in the 600 block of East 124th Street with family members, including a 2-year-old child, when Vinson allegedly shot him multiple times in the head, police said. Vinson then turned to another man and also allegedly shot him as well.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The second person who was shot survived.

According to Cleveland Municipal Court records, Vinson is charged with aggravated murder.
