Highway patrol announces locations of sobriety checkpoints in Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND — The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced Friday the locations where troopers will conduct sobriety checkpoints to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

Summit County

Between 10 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, the OSHP will conduct a checkpoint on Akron-Cleveland Road, which runs parallel to state Route 8 north of Akron.

The road is just east of Blossom Music Center, which is hosting Korn and Alice and Chain on Friday night.

Medina County

Troopers along with the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and Brunswick Hills Township Police Department will hold an OVI checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday night on US 42.

The checkpoint will be held in partnership with other nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes.

Cuyahoga County

The Parma Police Department will conduct an OVI/Sobriety checkpoint on Friday night in the 5600 block of Pearl Road. The checkpoint will target the southbound lanes of Pearl Road. The checkpoint will go from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Ashland County

The Ohio State Highway Patrol along with local law enforcement will conduct an OVI checkpoint from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on State Route 3.
