A man is dead after his girlfriend stabbed him and then called sheriff's claiming he accidentally cut himself.
According to Holmes County Sheriff Timothy Zimmerly, deputies responded to the scene after 43-year-old Bobbi L. Amos-Camacho called to report her boyfriend accidently cut himself while sharpening a knife.
When deputies and EMS arrived they found the victim, 42-year-old James L. Rowe Jr. lying on a bed face-up and not breathing. Rowe was pronounced dead by EMS. According to sheriff's deputies and detectives, he suffered multiple stab wounds to the torso and arm.
Amos-Camacho was transported to the sheriff's office for questioning and was later arrested and booked into the Holmes County Jail on one count of murder. She remains in custody pending her appearance in the Holmes County Municipal Court.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
