DANBURY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle, double fatal crash that happened Thursday in Danbury Township, located in Ottawa County.
According to a news release, troopers said a van was heading southbound on South Danbury North Road when the driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign and was hit by a motorcycle traveling east on East Bay Shore Road.
The motorcycle, driven by Wayne E. Kelley, 73, of Elmore, and his passenger, Mary Lowry, 54, of Woodville, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Both the driver and passenger were not wearing helmets, according to troopers.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
