That means there is a high swim risk, with life-threatening waves and currents expected. The NWS advises people to stay out of the water and avoid areas like piers and breakwalls.
The Coast Guard says that if you do plan to swim take extra safety precautions and inform someone of your water activities before you head to the beach.
The beach hazards statements remains in effect for most of Sunday.
