COLUMBUS, Ohio — Of the 115,174 initial jobless claims filed between March 7 and March 13, nearly 20,000 have been flagged for potential fraud, according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

The total number of initial jobless claims filed over the last 52 weeks, totaling 3,028,950, was more than the combined total of those filed from 2014-2019.

Ohioans filed 322,063 continued jobless claims last week, which was 454,239 fewer than the peak last year. That number includes both traditional unemployment claims and claims for extended benefits.

Anyone who suspects their identity was compromised and used to file fraudulent unemployment claims is asked to contact the ODJFS at unemployment.ohio.gov or by calling 833-658-0394.
