ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — Troopers are investigating a crash involving a buggy in Ashland County that occurred Saturday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Around 6:10 p.m., troopers received a call about an injury crash involving a car and a buggy on state Route 96 near Township Road 1353.

Once on scene, troopers found a 2014 Ford Fusion and a horse drawn buggy off the roadway. The Fusion had heavy front end damage and the buggy had heavy damage to the rear, troopers said.

Troopers said the buggy was traveling west on SR 96 when it was struck from behind by the Fusion.

The driver of the Fusion and her juvenile passenger were not injured in the crash, but the operator of the buggy was transported from the scene to an area hospital for serious injuries, according to troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
