ASHLAND, Ohio — Turk Brother's Custom Meats of Ashland has issued a voluntary recall for 473 pounds of mushroom and Swiss bratwurst due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.
The product contains soy, which was not listed on the product label.
The Mushroom and Swiss Bratwurst were made for Bluebird Meadows and packaged between June 18, 2019 and Nov. 19, 2019.
It was sold at the following farmers markets between June 18, 2019 and March 14, 2020:
- 220 Crocker Park Blvd., Westlake, Ohio.
- North Franklin Street and North Main Street, Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
- Clintonville Farmers Market, Columbus, Ohio.
- Hudson Farmers Market on the Village Green, Hudson, Ohio.
The problem was discovered by the Ohio Department of Agriculture Division of Meat Inspection during a routine in-plant inspection. Inspection personnel discovered the seasoning packet did not match the facilities approved label on file.
There have been no reports of reactions due to consumption of the bratwurst. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact their healthcare provider.
