SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A 50-year-old Ashtabula man was arrested Tuesday night in connection with the fatal stabbing of another city resident.
According to the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home in the 5800 block of Dunbar Avenue after a woman called 911 for help around 11:14 p.m.
Authorities found the victim, a 56-year-old man from Ashtabula who had apparent stab wounds, in a bathtub. His identity has not been released. The man was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Saybrook Fire Department.
The suspect fled the scene prior to deputies arriving.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the man was involved in an altercation with the suspect when the stabbing occurred, authorities said.
The suspect was later found at a family member’s house. His name has not been released.
Authorities said that the suspect will be arraigned Wednesday on a murder charge in Ashtabula Municipal Court.
