ASHTABULA, Ohio — An Ashtabula woman pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter after a man overdosed on drugs.

On July 26, 2018, Seneca Jonelle Brown sold and distributed fentanyl to Frederick Brown, which led to his death, according to court records.

Toxicology reports showed fentanyl in Brown's blood at the time of his death, which was ruled as a fentanyl overdose by the Ashtabula County coroner.

Seneca Brown pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated trafficking in drugs.

She also pleaded guilty to one count of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto grounds of a specified government facility after bringing .21 grams of fentanyl into the Ashtabula City Jails on July 16, 2018.

Brown was sentenced to six years in jail.
