HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A passenger inside a vehicle traveling on I-90 in Harpersfield Township, located in Ashtabula County, died when she was partially ejected during a crash, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 7:57 p.m. on Sunday on I-90 near mile marker 219 in Harpersfield Township.
Troopers said a 2003 Ford Explorer, driven by a 44-year-old Canton man, was traveling east on I-90 when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn several times before coming to a stop.
The passenger, identified as Karly Steele, of Canton, was partially ejected during the crash and sustained fatal injuries.
State troopers said it did not appear seat belts were used by any of the occupants in the vehicle.
At this time, it does not appear that alcohol or drugs were involved. The crash remains under investigation.
