ASHTABULA, Ohio — The Ashtabula Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning.
The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of West 9th Street around 1:11 a.m.
According to police, a man in his late 30s or early 40s was found in home's basement with multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital, but his condition is currently unknown.
Authorities said witnesses on scene gave conflicting reports of what lead up to the shooting. No further information has been released.
The shooting remains under investigation.
