ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Ashtabula County.

The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on U.S. 20.

A man was driving a green 2011 Mack garbage truck southwest on U.S. 20, when he stopped in the roadway to collect trash from a receptacle.

He left the vehicle to remove the trash while standing in the driveway of a home.

A black 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was also driving southwest on U.S. 20.
