In an unassuming barn in Ashtabula County, a group of women came together to help other women of domestic violence.

Through a craft fair, the nonprofit "Women Helping Women" hosted Christmas in the Barn on Saturday and Sunday on Windsor Mechanicsville Road in Orwell.

The women raised money from the craft fair to give to Ashtabula County to purchase GPS ankle monitors for domestic violence offenders with a history of domestic violence.

The women met with judges last week who agreed to test out the pilot program.

"This restraining order wouldn’t be just a piece of paper. It would come with wires and it would tell everybody where that person is," said Robbi Zakowski, founder of "Women Helping Women."

She, along with several other women, started the organization to help their friend Paulette who was shot and killed by her estranged husband in 2011.

If you didn't make it to the event, you can still donate to the organization here.
