The Cleveland Fire Department is investigating the city's second fatal fire in one day on Saturday, city officials said.
According to spokesman Larry Gray, the most recent fire broke out in the afternoon at a home on the 3600 block of East 57th Street. He confirmed one person died in connection with the fire.
Gray said 11 units responded to battle the fully-engulfed home.
Earlier Saturday morning, another person was killed in a house fire that started around 2:06 a.m. at a home in the area of East 133rd Street and Union Avenue. It took firefighters almost three hours to extinguish the flames.
The fire department transported the the 28-year-old male victim, identified by family as Tavon D. Finley, to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where the he was pronounced dead.
