One man is dead after a house fire broke out on Cleveland's East side early Saturday morning, the Cleveland Fire Department said.

According to Cleveland Fire spokesman Larry Gray, the fire started at around 2:06 a.m. at a home in the area of East 133rd Street and Union Avenue.

It took firefighters almost three hours to extinguish the flames.

Gray said firefighters found one person, identified by family as 28-year-old Tavon D. Finley, on the second floor of the home. The fire department transported the victim to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was pronounced dead.

Fire officials did not provide further details.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
