MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Maple Heights Police Department is investigating after a 15-year-old boy was shot on Wednesday.
The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. near Hansen and Prayner roads.
According to police, the boy was with his family when an unknown person opened fire on them. The boy was hit in the back.
Maple Heights firefighters responded to the scene and rendered first aid. The boy was then transported to MetroHealth Medical Center with a possible life-threatening injury, authorities said.
Police say the teen is currently in stable condition.
