81-year-old Euclid resident shot in post office parking lot in attempted carjacking

Lonester Coleman, 18, of Sandusky has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of an 81-year-old Euclid resident. 

A Euclid man was shot in the chest at the U.S. Post Office in Euclid on July 10. According to police, Coleman fled the scene on foot after shooting the victim in an attempted carjacking. 

After a brief manhunt, Coleman was apprehended by Euclid Police. 

The victim, who is currently in stable condition, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound and other injures sustained in the incident. 

According to police records, Coleman entered a not-guilty plea and is being held on a $300,000 bond. He will be arraigned on July 20.
