Cleveland police are investigating a car jacking that occurred at the 10700 block of Hathaway Avenue on Sunday morning.

A 93-year-old woman was car jacked shortly after 10 a.m., according to police.

The woman was taken to University Hospitals for treatment.

She was in stable condition Sunday night.

Neighbors said the 93-year old-woman, left her car running when she went to the front door of the house to get her friend. That's when a man jumped into her car.

As the man started driving away the woman tried to stop him but she was knocked to the ground by the car.

Police found the woman's car, an Acura, Sunday afternoon at the intersection of East 90 Street and Morris Avenue.

Cleveland police are still looking for the car thief.

"We want him off the street, because if he did it to her, he will do it to anybody, to your mother, to my mother. He disregarded human life, he could've killed her," said community activist Khalid Samad.
