Beachwood levy and North Olmsted bond from May 8 will get an automatic recount

The ballot results for a Beachwood levy and a North Olmsted bond from May 8th will get an automatic recount due to the result totals being so close.

According to cuyahogaelectionaudits.com, the reason for the recount is that the vote count difference is less than one half of one percent. In such cases, an automatic recount is triggered.

Residents cast 2,035 votes against Issue 2, a bond and levy for Beachwood City School District, for a total of 50.06 percent of the vote. Those in favor of the levy cast 2,030 votes for a total of 49.94 percent. 

In North Olmsted, residents cast 3,331 votes, totaling 50.23 percent against Issue 12 — a parks and recreation bond. Those in favor cast 3,300 votes for a total of 49.77 percent.
