CLEVELAND — On Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Lorain, Ashtabula, Erie, Lake and Cuyahoga counties.
A Beach Hazards Statement, which is issued when there is a risk for swimming because of large waves and rip currents, is in effect from Thursday evening to Friday afternoon, according to the NWS.
The swimming risks can create life-threatening conditions even for good swimmers.
The NWS suggests following instructions at local beaches or stay out of the water.
