BEREA, Ohio — Berea-Midpark High School and Grindstone Elementary School were placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon after a student showed another student what appeared to be a weapon, district officials say.
At about 1:40 p.m., the high school administration received notification that there was an incident in the parking lot where one of our students was shown what appeared to be a weapon by another student, the district said.
As a precaution, the district placed both the high school and the elementary school on a soft lockdown, allowing classes to be conducted as normal.
