CLEVELAND — The Black Shield Police Association is collecting school supplies and book bags for students in Cleveland's Central and Buckeye-Shaker neighborhoods.
Police are asking members of the public for the following items:
- Book-bags
- #2 Pencils / Mechanical Pencils
- Blue / Black Pens
- Crayons / Colored Pencils / Markers
- Glue sticks / Glue bottle
- Highlighters
- Notebooks / Loose-leaf paper
- 2-pocket folders
- Facial tissues (New)
- Deodorant (New)Male / Female Undershirts (New)
- Socks / Underwear (New)
- Toothbrushes / Toothpaste (New)
- Sweatshirts / Light jackets or sweaters (New)
- New or gently used books (all ages)
Those who can't physically donate can donate online at here. Click donate today and select the drop down menu and choose "BSPA Bookbag Drive."
The bookbag giveaway will be held on Saturday, July 27 from 12 to 4 p.m. at The Black Shield, 4097 East 131st Street. There will be barbers for back-to-school haircuts, music and light refreshments.
