Saturday | Danita Harris hosts Soup 4 the Soul

Some of your favorite NewsChannel5 on-air newscasters will join Emmanuel Baptist Church Saturday for the annual Black History Month event, “Soup 4 the Soul,” to celebrate the church’s 100th anniversary.

Anchor Danita Harris is set to help host the fundraiser cook-off at the Cleveland church, located at 7201 Quincy Avenue, at 2 p.m. Anchor Leon Bibb and Power of 5 Meteorologist Janessa Webb will also participate in the festivities.

Sponsored by Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, Jay Auto Group and Morgan Linen, the event provides an opportunity for the community to sample locally-prepared soups. All proceeds go toward the church’s community outreach program.

The event will also be hosted by - and see appearances from - other local on-air talent and celebrities.

After the soup meals, Pastor Anthony T. Park & Favor will kick off a live gospel concert at 5 p.m.

The event also features door prizes. Tickets are $10 at the door. 

Soups will be provided by: Cuyahoga Community College Culinary Kitchen; Da Suga Foundation; Simply Michele’s; Skye LaRae’s Culinary Services; B&M Bar B Que; Sides to Go; Sam Sylk’s Chicken and Fish; and Frederick’s Wine and Dine Restaurant.
