Posted

A Cleveland dentist allegedly billed Medicaid for fillings on patients with dentures and other work not performed; now he's charged with health care fraud, Ohio's U.S. Attorney announced Monday.

Robert Rouzaud, 59, allegedly billed for an excessive number of fillings on the same teeth when he had not done fillings; and he filed claims for fillings on teeth that had been previously extracted, according to criminal information cited by authorities. He submitted false claims for more than $407,000 in work not pre-authorized and/or not provided, between 2009 and 2015, according authorities' information.

Rouzad was paid more than $343,000 for these services, according to authorities information. He operated Five Points Dental Centre on East 152nd Street.

If convicted, the court will determine Rouzad's sentence after reviewing the factors unique to the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Collyer is to prosecute the case following an FBI investigation.
Information is a charge and is not evidence of guilt.
