An 18-year-old Cleveland man died on Wednesday after suffering a gunshot wound to the head during an shooting on Saturday, Sept. 17, said Cleveland police on Friday.
Around 3 a.m. on Sept. 17, officers responded to reports of an 18-year-old man shot near the intersection of East 33rd Street and Cedar Avenue. He was found with a gunshot wound to his head. Officers say they administered first aid until EMS arrived to transport him to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he later died.
A second victim was having trouble walking when police found him. They say the 45-year-old man suffered a cut to the back of his head during the shooting. He told police that he heard shots fired near a group of teenage girls standing by the McDonalds near East 31st Street and Carnegie Avenue. He also told police he saw someone firing shots from a dark vehicle. He was transported to MetroHealth to receive medical attention.
Police have not named any suspects for the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
