Cleveland police detectives are investigating the felonious assault shooting of a man on Feb. 2.

Police who were on scene at the 2800 block of Becket Road, said they heard shots fired at about 5:45 p.m. and observed a dark green Pontiac Grand Am with four black males leaving the area.

The car was driving recklessly left of center as it traveled through the intersection of East 130th and Griffing Avenue, police said.

Authorities followed the car as it traveled past Buckeye Road through a red light but lost it a short time later. They were later able to re-locate the unoccupied vehicle on Drexmore Road. The engine was still running, police said.

The victim later told police he was in the area of East 116th Street and Buckeye Road when a man jumped out of a silver Jeep and shot him. Police said they believe the two incidents to be related, but at this time it is unknown if the victim was an occupant of the Pontiac or another vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
