Cleveland Police K-9 officers are safer while patrolling thanks to four new ballistic vests to protect the K-9 cops.

Each vest is fitted to each dog and was donated by A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Homes.

"We have a canine therapy dog that works in the funeral home and we see the value these animals bring to human life," said Anthony Ripepi.

All four K-9s in the unit received the new vests, including Benny. "They make our job safer and if we can help them and make them safer, it's a win win," said K-9 handler Paul Fronckowiak,

Each vest cost $800.
