CMHA arrests shooting suspect Arion Andrews

The Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority Police Department arrested a man on Thursday they suspect was involved in a shooting incident where he used an AK-47.

On Thursday around 2 p.m., members of CMHA, along with the U.S. Marshal's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, arrested Arion Andrews, 20, for felonious assault. 

According to police, Andrews was suspected of firing an AK-47 during a shooting incident on March 8 at 7400 Wade Park. Bullets from the weapon damaged five parked cars on the street and entered an occupied home while residents were inside. No one was injured.

Police reported a forensic analysis by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified DNA on a shall casing belonging to Andrews.

Andrews was arrested at his home, police stated.

The investigation is ongoing. 

CMHA said also in connection with this incident, officers executed a county search warrant at a location in the 1300 block of Russel Road in Cleveland in an attempt to recover additional evidence.
