CLEVELAND — A 24-year-old woman suspected of being impaired while driving was arrested after leading state troopers on a pursuit that ended in a crash near the entrance ramp of Pleasant Valley Road near I-77, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
At around 3:30 a.m. state troopers initiated a traffic stop with a Chevrolet Cruze on I-77 southbound near I-480.
The vehicle was spotted traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph and unable to maintain its lane.
The vehicle failed to stop, so state troopers initiated a pursuit.
The vehicle, driven by a 24-year-old Cleveland woman, continued southbound at high rate of speed and attempted to exit at Pleasant Valley Road.
The driver failed to make the turn, causing the vehicle to travel off the roadway and into a guardrail on the entrance ramp from Pleasant Valley Road onto I-77.
Troopers said immediately after, the driver exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.
The driver was believed to be impaired. She was charged with fleeing or evading police, OVI, reckless operations and driving without a driver’s license.
