Driver shot before striking car in Cleveland

A driver was shot before he struck a car on Friday morning, and police are still working to find out where the shooting took place, authorities said.

The 24-year-old victim was driving a Ford Taurus “erratically” and at a high rate of speed westbound on Woodland Avenue with the rear window shattered, witnesses told police.

According to authorities, the man drove around and into oncoming traffic before he struck a Chevy Express, driven by a 55-year-old man.

The 24-year-old was found in the area of East 71st Street and Woodland Avenue with several gunshot wounds, as well as multiple injuries from the crash.

Both drivers were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment, police said. 

It is unknown where the actual shooting took place at this time.

Police are investigating the incident.
