Fugitive escapes capture, eludes police

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the arrest of Maurice 'Jason' Sinkfield.

The Task Force said Sinkfield is wanted by the United States Marshals Service and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department for probation violation, with an underlying robbery offense. He is also wanted by Mentor police after he fled a traffic stop in September of 2015.

Authorities attempted to apprehend Sinkfield on March 21 when they located him on th e1300 block of East 279th Street in Euclid.  Sinkfield was able to elude police after he rammed a U.S. Marshal’s vehicle and escaped the area.

Sinkfield is believed to be a danger to himself and law enforcement and is known to carry a firearm, police said. He made threats to officers in the past and has proven his is willing to use violence to escape capture, police said.

Police described Sinkfield as a 33-year-old black man, about 6 feet tall, weighs 180 lbs., and has brown hair and eyes. He is believed to be in Cleveland, in the Cleveland eastern suburbs area, or in Lake County.
