GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — A student at Garfield Heights High School has been arrested for allegedly bringing a gun to the campus, according to school officials.
In a statement published on the district website, school officials said they received a report about a student possibly coming to school with a firearm.
When the student arrived at the high school, he was brought to the main office and searched. School officials said they confiscated a weapon.
Following the discovery of the weapon, the student was then arrested.
Authorities said that while the incident was being handled, "everyone in the school remained safe."
The student's name and age have not been released.
School officials have not provided any additional details.
It's unknown what charges the student is potentially facing.
