CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement for Lorain, Ottawa, Erie, Lake and Cuyahoga counties on Monday.

A Beach Hazards Statement, which is issued when there is a risk for swimming because of large waves and rip currents, is in effect from 4 p.m. this afternoon through late tonight.

The swimming risks can create life-threatening conditions even for good swimmers.

The NWS suggests following instructions at local beaches or stay out of the water.
