The much-anticipated skating rink opened Monday morning at Public Square as winter events begin to kickoff for the year.
First skate started at 10 a.m.
The ice rink will be open the entire winter season.
The ice rink is a part of a $32 million renovation that was completed in earlier this year. The project eliminated vehicle traffic through the four-city-block square, which previously was crisscrossed by Ontario Street and Superior Avenue.
In addition to the ice rink, the new Public Square hosts pedestrian walkways, green space for concerts and events.
Those planning for the to hit the ice rink this season should know the price is $10, including skate rental, and $7 if you have your own skates.
The skating rink will be open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
