Bratenahl police reported a 21-year-old male inmate escaped from their department on Monday.
Police said the man ran out the doors of the Bratenahl Police Department while being booked in the jail.
The suspect, identified as Gevonne D. Smith, was arrested for burglary on Monday, police said, at a residence in the city. A K-9 officer assisted in the arrest.
Bratenahl police are seeking a warrant to file charges.
The police department urges Smith to turn himself in.
