WESTLAKE, Ohio — A man is in custody after allegedly stealing from the Apple Store at Crocker Park and later hitting a police cruiser with his vehicle, according to the Westlake Police Department.
Around 8 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a theft from Apple Crocker Park. The man accused of stealing got into his car and rammed a cruiser, police said.
Following the crash, a foot pursuit ensued. Officers were able to apprehend the 27-year-old man, according to police.
Police believe the man may have dumped a firearm and are currently searching for the weapon.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital after police said he might have had a seizure.
No officers were injured during the incident.
