A 33-year-old man died in the early morning hours of Jan. 23 after being found lying in the road next to a gun and incoherent and impaired, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A trooper on a traffic stop on Lorain Avenue near West 85th Street was approached by a pedestrian who found the victim - who was later identified as Michael L. White of Cleveland.
Police said they secured the weapon and moved White out of the road and onto the curb to administer medical assistance but he became unresponsive.
EMS workers performed CPR and the victim was transported to MetroHealth and later pronounced dead.
The man’s cause of death is still under investigation.
