A Cleveland area man suffered cuts to his hand and a broken leg after he leapt from a second-story window during an attempted robbery on Cleveland's eastside.

Police responded to East 130th Street and Buckeye Road to reports of a man shot. When they arrived, they found the man lying in an alley between two abandoned buildings being treated for his wounds by medics.

The 40-year-old man told police that an assailant forced him into an apartment and tried to rob him at gunpoint. Once he was in the apartment, the man wrestled the gun away from the robber and jumped from the second floor window.

The man was taken to University Hospitals for treatment. Police said they located the gun, but not the man who is accused of the attempted robbery.
