CLEVELAND — After torrential rain caused flooding in portions of Northeast Ohio overnight, one man who was found sitting on top of his car as water levels rose had to be rescued by the North Olmsted Fire Department.
Crews responded at around 6:12 a.m. on Wednesday to the area of Valley Parkway and Cedar Point Road, which is in the Rocky River Reservation.
The man who was rescued drove into high water, trapping his vehicle, authorities said.
The National Weather Service warns drivers to "turn around and don't drown" when encountering flooded roads. The NWS said most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
