A man wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department is facing extradition after he was found sleeping in his car by a Bay Village officer.

Just before 2 a.m. Friday, a Bay Village officer found the man sleeping in his car in the area of Eaton Way and Columbia Road.

Though the 30-year-old man is an Avon Lake resident, he was found to have active warrants in Tennessee and California. The warrant out of Los Angeles was for kidnapping, according to police.

The man was arrested on misdemeanor charges and taken to the Bay Village Police Department.

He is now at the Cuyahoga County Jail awaiting extradition to California.
