US Marshals have captured a wanted fugitive who has spent the last 43 years on the run.

Marshals arrested 67-year-old Alan Brown Tuesday night in Bladensburg, Maryland.

According to authorities, Brown was driving more than 90 MPH the wrong way on I-71 in Cuyahoga County in 1974 when he sideswiped a car and then struck a second vehicle, killing the passenger, Juanita Reed.

Brown jumped in the back of another vehicle that was heading northbound but was taken into custody a short time later.

After his original arrest, Brown was released. Police later determined he had been drinking at the time of the crash.

Brown was able to elude authorities for decades by using constantly moving and using fake names.

Marshals said they were able to track Brown down using tips gathered from several states.
