WESTLAKE — A 58-year-old man pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge on Thursday for allegedly spitting and hitting another man in a parking garage at Crocker Park last month.
The incident happened on Dec. 17 in the Mulberry Garage.
Authorities said that the two men got into an argument over driving on a ramp in the garage. According to the police report, the assailant then opened the victim's car door, spit on him and then punched him in the face.
The 58-year-old man was arrested by Westlake police and jailed.
He is scheduled to appear in Rocky River Municipal Court on Feb. 11 for a pretrial conference.
