SEVEN HILLS, Ohio — An empty Kmart storefront will finally be put to good use after the city of Seven Hills announced its approval for a plan to bring retail giant Meijer to the former Kmart site off of Broadview Road.
In a letter to Seven Hills residents, Acting Mayor and Council President Anthony D. Biasiotta said Meijer and Kmart reached an agreement to sort out the terms of Kmart’s current lease on the property.

The agreement allows Meijer to move one year ahead of the original scheduled construction date, with plans to start construction in the spring of 2020.
Meijer also agreed to add “Seven Hills” to the signage of the store, in addition to an update of the color scheme that will reflect the modern design in the marketplace.
In recent months, the retail giant has taken Northeast Ohio by storm, opening stores in Avon, Mentor and Stow.
