A four-hour standoff in Brooklyn ended with the arrest of a 50-year-old man, said police officials.

Authorities said the suspect, John Lunde, barricaded himself in his Archmere home earlier today after shooting a gun in the residence during an argument with his wife and 13-year-old daughter inside.

Police arrived on scene at the 6400 block of Archmere Ave. at about 4 p.m. after the man's wife called 911.

The woman told police her husband fired a handgun twice during an argument but she was able to get out of the house safely with her daughter and caretaker.

Officials said they heard a third shot when they arrived on scene. Authorities made contact with Lunde over the phone but the man refused to leave his house and threatened to shoot officers and himself.

After Lunde broke off communications, members of the SouthWest Enforcement Bureau introduced a chemical agent into the residence and the man came outside through the front door and was taken into custody.

Police said charges for Lunde will be reviewed by the city prosecutor.
