An off-duty University Hospitals police officer was shot while withdrawing money on Monday.
The officer was withdrawing money from the US Bank located at 1813 Forest Hill Boulevard around 7:40 a.m. when an unknown person approached him with a gun already out, according to East Cleveland police.
Police said the robber demanded the officer's property, taking his badge, wallet and the off-duty weapon. The officer was shot during the interaction, according to police
Officers said they are pulling video from the area and interviewing other witnesses.
