CLEVELAND — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a pursuit on Interstate 71 ended in a crash Saturday evening.
Around 7:11 p.m., troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop with a 2007 Honda Accord that had no registration on I-71 south near Dennison Avenue.
When the Honda did not stop, a pursuit was initiated.
The Honda continued fleeing southbound and attempted to exit I-71 onto West 130th Street when it lost control and struck a guardrail, troopers said.
After the crash, the driver of the Honda fled the scene on foot while a passenger in the vehicle who sustained non-life threatening injuries was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Troopers said they found a large amount of what they believe to be narcotics inside of the vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation.
