CLEVELAND — The Ohio Turnpike is getting an upgrade.

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission is planning on removing toll plaza entry and exit gates for E-Z pass users.

The new system will provide non-stop travel for E-Z pass holders at speeds of 70 miles per hour for those driving the entire length of the turnpike.

There will still be exit gates for those paying with cash.

Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2019 and conclude at the end of 2021.
