Parmatown Mall was torn down Friday.
The demolition is part of the $95 million renovation of the shopping center to transform it into The Shoppes at Parma--an open-air mall.
Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed at the end of March.
The project should be completed by Spring 2017.
As of now, Shoppes at Parma plans to keep 15 existing tenants including JCPenney, Dick's Sporting Goods and WalMart.
Other retailers that have obtained leases include ULTA, Fast Eddie's Kitchen and Bar, Sports Clips, GNC, H&R Block, Jimmy Johns, Chipotle, AT&T, Panera Bread, Mattress Firm, Chase Bank, FitWorks, Pet Valu, Mission BBQ, Five Guys and Aspen Dental.
